I like to give about a week\u2019s time frame. This would include any reading or other studying activities that you also plan to do within that time. Keep your to-do list completely up to date to best plan your time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"next-to-each-task-add-the-date-it-absolutely-has-to-be-done\">Next to each task, add the date it absolutely has to be done.\u00a0\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We can worry about hopes and dreams later.\u00a0 This is just quick and dirty.\u00a0 If there are separate steps to a project, make sure you write each of those steps separately.\u00a0 You should start to see a ridiculously long list of mundane tasks.\u00a0 That\u2019s good!\u00a0 That is what we want.\u00a0 Most importantly, you see next to that list when you actually need to finish things.\u00a0 Now we start to organize.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"on-a-separate-sheet-of-paper-list-out-all-the-things-that-absolutely-have-to-be-completed-today-then-tomorrow-and-finally-the-day-after\">On a separate sheet of paper, list all the things that absolutely have to be completed today, tomorrow, and the day after.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Expect a task to take about double the time you think it will.\u00a0 Do not add the entire string of instructions, just the project\u2019s individual components.\u00a0 Now you can better handle the urgency of a task rather than that daunting list.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/sunfish-poodle-katl.squarespace.com\/organize-10-ways-to-stay-focused-on-your-goals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ideally, each of these tasks will take only 15 \u2013 30 minutes to complete.<\/a>\u00a0 If anything takes substantially longer than that, consider breaking it down further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-large is-resized is-style-default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/healthyamerica.wpenginepowered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Untitled-design-6-1024x576.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4292\" srcset=\"https:\/\/healthyamericanusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Untitled-design-6-1024x576.png 1024w, https:\/\/healthyamericanusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Untitled-design-6-600x338.png 600w, https:\/\/healthyamericanusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Untitled-design-6-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/healthyamericanusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Untitled-design-6-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/healthyamericanusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Untitled-design-6-1536x864.png 1536w, https:\/\/healthyamericanusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Untitled-design-6-2048x1152.png 2048w, https:\/\/healthyamericanusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Untitled-design-6-830x467.png 830w, https:\/\/healthyamericanusa.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Untitled-design-6-1200x675.png 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By breaking down big lists and projects into tiny pieces like this, you can feel a sense of accomplishment as you start crossing items off your list.\u00a0 Doing this reduces the likelihood of you stressing that you can\u2019t get it all done.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As you start completing small portions of the list, this subtle shift in thinking will give you the drive and positivity to tackle more projects. It also prevents you from spinning your wheels in frustration and wasting time on tasks that do not require your immediate attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It also gives you some flexibility to allow yourself to rotate tasks you don\u2019t feel like doing, with others that may be easier or more entertaining.\u00a0 It will only be a few minutes until you are done.\u00a0 You can just push through it to the good stuff!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every time you sit down to work on your list, add any new tasks that come up.\u00a0 You will start blowing through the list of tasks faster than due.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"the-key-is-to-make-sure-that-the-list-of-tasks-is-manageable-and-realistic\">The key is to make sure that the list of tasks is manageable and realistic.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Positive reinforcement is the best motivation.\u00a0 Expecting yourself to pull off a miracle and do everything in one night is just setting yourself up for failure.\u00a0 You already have so much external pressure, you don\u2019t need to put any extra on yourself.\u00a0 You know what is realistic to do, considering your own schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Do NOT dogpile tasks on yourself.\u00a0 You will feel much better about how much you finish if you start tomorrow\u2019s tasks early than if you have to complete today\u2019s tasks tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Be kind to yourself when things don\u2019t go according to plan.\u00a0 It\u2019s okay to admit you can\u2019t do it all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Forcing yourself to push through an impossibly large pile of work that you can never hope to accomplish on time will only slow you down like quicksand.\u00a0 Feeling successful in any task is considerably more motivating than failure.\u00a0 With that feeling of accomplishment, you can coast through more jobs in less time because positive reinforcement motivates your actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Disclaimer * Some of the posted links are affiliate programs.
