pace around your apartment, roaming from the refrigerator to the cupboard, to the pantry, over and over again.\u00a0 Grumbling and sighing to yourself, unable to make a decision.\u00a0 Finally, you pop a bag of popcorn and wander back to studying or watching a show on Netflix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s a couple of hours later now, and you realize you are starving all over again.\u00a0 But now it\u2019s too late to cook.\u00a0 You can\u2019t just start rattling around in the kitchen.\u00a0 So, what are you going to do?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Do you order in?\u00a0 Do you drive to McDonald\u2019s?\u00a0 This time you just make a bowl of cereal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We need to break the cycle of spending hundreds of dollars a month on fast food. \u00a0It does nothing for your energy levels and depletes your bank account. \u00a0Instead, we are going to make a plan and, we\u2019re even going to save time and money just by doing it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The best way to do this is to batch and plan our meals.\u00a0 Choose recipes with similar ingredients over the week to save money on groceries and avoid wasting ingredients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Planning your meals for the week can be as simple or complicated as your cooking skill.\u00a0 If you enjoy cooking and do it all the time, you probably have a lot of great recipe ideas on hand.\u00a0 Plan out 5 to 7 meal ideas for the week and list all of the ingredients you\u2019re going to need.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If your culinary skills are somewhat lacking, you can also go on the web and look up some easy recipe ideas. \u00a0There are tons of different ways to search.\u00a0 You can find five recipe ideas or even 30-minute recipe ideas.\u00a0 Whatever suits your time and budget restraints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"if-you-are-coupling-meal-planning-with-budgeting-try-to-pick-recipes-with-similar-ingredients\">If you are coupling meal planning with budgeting, try to pick recipes with similar ingredients.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-large is-resized is-style-default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" like to try new things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not only have you now committed to a menu for the week, but you also have your grocery list.\u00a0 Doing one grocery shop weekly will save you time from making multiple trips to the store throughout the week.\u00a0 It will also save you money from the impulse purchases you would rack up on these extra trips.\u00a0 A chocolate bar here and a bottle of Pop there really add up over time, especially when you\u2019re trying to save.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From here, you have a couple of options, you can go on to grocery shopping, return and put your supplies away, or prepare your ingredients.\u00a0 Upon arriving home and unloading your groceries, decide if you want to advance to this second stage of planning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"preparing-everything-ahead-of-time-will-save-you-time-daily\">Preparing everything ahead of time will save you time overall on cleaning and dishes since you won\u2019t have quite as many each night.\u00a0\u00a0 Just be sure to safely store the ingredients to avoid spoilage and cross-contamination.\u00a0 Freezing portions will give you extra flexibility when you do not have the time to cook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you have the available time, you can also cook and freeze portions for use throughout the week.\u00a0 This allows even more flexibility because you can just pop a serving in the microwave.\u00a0 \u00a0Batch cook intricate meals like lasagna or shepherd\u2019s pie that require you to make larger portions and freeze them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Having one batch cooking night weekly, and stocking up, will save even more time and dishes day today.\u00a0 The only limitation to this process is has enough freezer space. \u00a0This is also a great option if you just need a few emergency meals on hand for days that you are super pressed for
